Meet our staff
Rachel Jones, PT, DPT, CIDN
Rachel came to Guymon as a new graduate from the University of Oklahoma in 1992 and has worked in and around Guymon for the over 30 years. She will graduate with her doctorate of PT in 2023. Pediatrics and neuro-rehab was her first love in this field and she dedicated 13 years exclusively to pediatrics working with babies in a home based program. In 2010, she decided to return to serving patients of all ages and enjoys the challenges of treating a wide variety of patients in our rural setting.
She is married to her college sweetheart and they have two children, born and raised here in Guymon. Both kids earned bachelor degrees from OPSU and have gone on to further their education, one in pharmacy and the other in cyber security. She enjoys traveling, hiking, exploring new places and meeting people. Guymon Nazarene is her church home and one of her favorite verses is Psalm 1:3 “He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers”.
Rachel became certified in Integrative Dry Needling in 2015, which impacted her practice greatly. Implementing this technique improved her ability to manage a patient’s pain early in the recovery process and improve overall success. Building relationships and collaborating with her patients to achieve their goals has always been a high priority.
Another priority has been developing community partnerships and improving the health and wellness of the panhandle, for the past 15 years as she chaired the Panhandle Cares, a certified health improvement organization. She enjoys developing plans and finding innovative ways to improve our community’s heath.
Beyond working toward her DPT, Rachel has continued her education in many manual techniques such as; kinesiotaping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, tissue decompression mobilization/cupping, myofascial release, Integrative Dry Needling, shoulder rehab, sacroiliac dysfunction, infant massage and pediatric foot splinting. She believes that individualized, hands-on therapy and patient collaboration is the key to helping others live their best life!
Britney Scott, RPTA
Being a long-time student athlete, physical therapy was an easy choice for Britney Scott. She graduated from Colby Community College in 2003, with an Associates in Applied Science, and moved to Guymon following completion of her Physical Therapist Assistant degree. She considers herself a transplant having married one of Guymon’s own, Cody Scott now a Lt. of Guymon Fire Department, and is blessed with two children. Outside of work, she can often be found cheering her kids on in whatever school event or sport season they are in at the time – baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, wrestling, soccer, or enjoying time with her family at home.
Since coming to Guymon, Britney has provided PT services in several capacities – hospital-based rehab, nursing home and swing-bed setting – where she served as Director of Rehab at Heritage Community/Dunaway Manor, outpatient PT services, school-based PT services, home health services, as well as working with local and area athletes in recovering and returning to their sport as quickly as possible. As of April of 2022, she is trained in Integrative Dry Needling techniques to aide in pain management and recovery from injury.
Flexibility of skills is a must in our field of work. This is why Britney has an appreciation for working in the panhandle, you just never know who needs your help and no matter what age they are Lifesplan Physical Therapy is here to help those patients return to living their best lives!
